Since it’s Sunday I didn’t want to get into anything big so I wanted to show something that I found last week while searching for a Easter dress. Instead I found the perfect dress for upcoming Easter and it looks as though it can make for the perfect bridesmaid dress too. I’m not into creating coordination blocks that I see in most wedding blogs because I believe that Brides can do a good job of coming up with their own color palettes, fashions and accessories. I go by one idea to the next.

Jones New York Tafetta Bubble Dress

This dress comes to us from Jones New York and it is rather old in the fact that is isn’t new for Spring or Fall 2008. It has a great price tag (at Nordstrom and I only checked Nordstrom), it’s fierce and timeless looking. I really like the fabrics that was used to make this dress and the closed pleats up on the waist are a sweet touch as well. Most bubble skirts look very dated, but this one is not at all. It works because it is elegant and it can be dressed up with the perfect hairstyle (definitely not the one pictured) and with beautiful accessories.

I’m sure Nordstrom will run out of these dresses soon, but there are also more on the rack like this one from Jones New York as other well known designers creations. I love Nordstrom and although I’m not the budget type, I always come out of there with deals from last season.

You know, J.Crew never ceases to amaze me. I’ve had them in my heart for years and I could never let them go. This is a great place to purchase bridesmaids dresses because they are easy to get to, you don’t need an appointment to try anything on, you don’t have to order anything and most importantly…their choices for bridesmaids are fierce.

2008 Royal Blue Dress by J. Crew

I updated the bridesmaid side of my brain today with their new Spring collection and I found two great dresses for maids. One is a royal blue, fun but it’s a totally chic dress and the other is a chocolate colored halter that is also playful and will look fierce on any body type if you ask me.

Both dresses reach right at the knee and I really like that. It’s not because I’m conservative or anything, but it’s just that some skirts above the knee can become out of control, show too much, lifts up in the back - if you got some junk in your trunk - and everybody is supposed to be staring at the Bride and not at her maids. How you doin’?

Bridesmaids Fahions: Tip of the Day!

All jokes aside, I recommend that Brides go shop off the rack for their Bridesmaids, but make sure that the dresses fit into one of my 5 C’s of fabulousness ( ^ look in my logo for the 5 C’s) and make sure that said dresses are well made. I hate dresses that show lines…not cute. Rack dresses are not necessarily cheaper than dresses that are ordered to be made so keep that in mind. My motto is: “YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!”
